On the evening of May 28, the Vietnam U19 team arrived in Medan, Indonesia, after a two-leg journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Jakarta and then to Medan, to compete in the 2026 ASEAN U19 Championship.

The 2026 ASEAN U19 Championship takes place from June 1 to June 14 in Indonesia and is seen as a crucial preparation step for Vietnam U19 toward their goal in the 2027 AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers. According to the schedule, Vietnam U19 will face Timor Leste on June 1, Myanmar on June 4, and Indonesia on June 7.
At the 2024 ASEAN U19 Championship, Vietnam U19 was eliminated in the group stage. The team, then under coach Hua Hien Vinh, also failed to advance past the 2025 AFC U20 Asian Cup qualifiers.

Malaysian referee to take charge in V-League
Two Malaysian FIFA referees have been invited to officiate two matches expected to be decisive: the clash between HAGL and Hanoi FC at Pleiku Stadium, and the match between Ho Chi Minh City FC and The Cong Viettel at Binh Duong Stadium.
According to the assignment, referee Muhammad Izzul Fikri Bin Kamaruzaman will officiate the match between Ho Chi Minh City FC and The Cong Viettel. Meanwhile, referee Razlan Joffri Bin Ali has been assigned to the HAGL vs. Hanoi FC match.
Both matches are significant, directly affecting the race for the top three as well as the relegation battle.
Five matches will use VAR technology in round 25 of the 2025/26 LPBank V-League: PVF-CAND vs. Hai Phong, HAGL vs. Hanoi FC, Ha Tinh vs. Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City FC vs. The Cong Viettel, and Cong an Ha Noi vs. Becamex Binh Duong.
The Cong Viettel signs two Hai Phong players
The Cong Viettel has reached an agreement to sign defenders Trieu Viet Hung and Pham Trung Hieu from Hai Phong. Personal terms have been settled between both parties, and the duo will play for their new club starting from the 2026/27 season.
Trieu Viet Hung is a former HAGL player but made a strong impression while playing for Hai Phong. He was previously called up to the Vietnam national team by coaches Philippe Troussier and Kim Sang-sik.
Pham Trung Hieu was also called up to the Vietnam national team by coach Philippe Troussier. He started in a friendly match against Palestine but unfortunately suffered a serious injury just seven minutes into the game.

11 players suspended in round 25 of the 2025/26 V-League
According to an announcement from the organizers, round 25 of the 2025/26 V-League sees 11 players suspended. Additionally, coach Van Sy Son is also banned from directing due to disciplinary action.
The Cong Viettel will be without three key players: Colonna Kyle Nino, Dinh Viet Tu, and Wesley Nata Wachholz.
Besides the three The Cong Viettel players, the list of suspended players for round 25 of the 2025/26 V-League also includes: Thai Ba Dat (PVF-CAND), Bui Tien Dung (Hai Phong), Ngo Van Luong, Ho Khac Ngoc (SLNA), Trong Hoang, Vu Viet Trieu (Ha Tinh), Rosa Nascimento Vitor Hugo (Cong an Ha Noi), and Ho Tan Tai (Ho Chi Minh City FC).
According to Decision No. 515/QD-LDBDVN, head coach of Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) Van Sy Son has been fined 10 million VND and suspended from his duties for the next two matches.
