Pedri has made it clear that his devotion to FC Barcelona is absolute, stating he intends to stay with the team from Catalonia for his whole playing days and carry forward a childhood aspiration.
Pedri has just reassured FC Barcelona fans by confirming that he has no plans to leave Camp Nou in the near future. The Spanish midfielder emphasized that wearing the Barca jersey has been his biggest dream since he was a child and that he wants to remain with the Catalan side for the long term.
In an interview with Televisión Canaria, Pedri spoke openly: “Playing for Barca is the greatest thing. It has been a dream since I was young, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.”
Pedri’s special love for Barcelona comes not only from himself but also from his family tradition. The 2002-born star’s grandfather once founded a Barca supporters’ club in their hometown, and later his father kept that passion alive over the years. Pedri emotionally recalled growing up in an atmosphere full of enthusiasm for the Blaugrana and used to watch the team’s matches right at the place his family managed.
The 23-year-old midfielder confided: “I wish my grandfather were still alive to see everything his grandson is experiencing. If he saw me playing for Barca, he would definitely be the number one fan.”
Not only known for his technique and ability to control the game, Pedri is also highly regarded for his progressive mindset. Despite an impressive season with 12 assists in 43 appearances, he still believes he needs to improve more in scoring and creating chances.
The Barca star revealed that he has spent a lot of time studying the playing styles of Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta to refine his vision and spatial awareness. Pedri added: “I need to improve my goals and assists to help the team more. I always remind myself of that every season.”
Off the pitch, the Spanish international maintains a disciplined lifestyle by regularly going to the training center for recovery. For Pedri, living with football every day is already the greatest happiness. After a successful season with Barcelona, Pedri is now shifting his focus to the 2026 World Cup campaign with Spain, where he is expected to continue playing a leading role in the midfield of “La Roja”.
