Many players from Vietnam's youth national team are entering the summer break.

VFF leaders held a meeting to motivate the U13 and U16 women's trial squads ahead of their summer vacation.

On the morning of May 29, VFF General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu, on behalf of the federation's leadership, met with and encouraged the U13 and U16 women's selection teams, which have been training long-term at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, before the players return to their hometowns for the summer break.

This is a long-term training program initiated by the VFF to discover, nurture, and develop young talents for Vietnamese women's football, aiming to build quality backup forces for clubs and national teams in the future.

The goal for Vietnam's U16 women's team is to compete for a spot at the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup.

Speaking at the meeting, General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu acknowledged and praised the efforts of the coaching staff and players during their training period from the beginning of the year. Alongside professional progress and positive results in youth tournaments, the VFF leadership also commended the players' academic achievements, with 10 students earning the title of "excellent student" and 8 being "advanced students."

General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu emphasized that a good player needs not only professional ability but also a strong cultural foundation and good thinking skills. The VFF hopes the players will continue to strive in their studies and is ready to provide support to help them achieve even better results in the future.

Coach Okiyama Masahiko encouraged the players to keep improving themselves.

Before the players return home for the summer break, General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu advised them to spend time with their families, care for their grandparents and parents, and maintain training to ensure physical fitness. Professionally, the VFF leadership stated that an important goal for Vietnam's young women's football in the coming period is to target the AFC U17 Women's Asian Cup qualifiers, thereby competing for a chance to earn a spot at the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup.

On behalf of the coaching staff, Coach Okiyama Masahiko encouraged the players to continue striving for self-improvement while maintaining their training regimen during the summer break, so they can return for the September reunion with the highest spirit and determination.

After the summer break, the two teams will resume their long-term training program at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, aiming for higher goals while wearing the national women's team jersey in the future.
