Barcelona targets Atletico Madrid's forward Alvarez, while Atletico aims to snatch Barcelona's free-agent target Bernardo Silva.

Barcelona confirmed the acquisition of Newcastle's English striker Gordon for over €80 million total. They also intend to lure Atletico's leading forward Alvarez, a key player for World Cup holders Argentina. The player has told Atletico he wants to depart. Barcelona is poaching from Atletico, and Atletico fights back by pursuing Bernardo Silva, Manchester City's captain and Barcelona's free-agent target.

According to the latest report from Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bernardo Silva will leave Manchester City this summer after nine years, with his next move already decided: La Liga, choosing between two giants—Barcelona or Atletico Madrid. Both Barcelona and Atletico have submitted formal offers to Silva's agent, Jorge Mendes. Barcelona is actively pushing forward and is optimistic, as the player's style fits the team and Barcelona has stronger title-contending power than Atletico. Barcelona is confident about signing Silva on a free transfer this summer.

Now 31 years old, Bernardo Silva is a versatile forward. He not only possesses strong ball control but is also known for his tireless running and abundant stamina. This season, he has made 56 appearances for Manchester City across all competitions, with a Transfermarkt valuation of €27 million.

In my opinion, Silva still has plenty left in the tank. Joining Barcelona on a free transfer and playing for another 3-4 years is entirely feasible. His running ability perfectly suits Flick's tactical needs, making this a mutually beneficial deal. If Barcelona successfully signs Alvarez and also secures Silva on a free, the former Manchester City teammates can reunite at Barcelona. Of course, Barcelona is a better fit for Silva's technical style than Atletico. What do you think?
