Manchester United is considering agreeing to extend Onana's loan, with the other side willing to cover his full salary! The player's attitude will determine the outcome.

Last season, Ruben Amorim defined the "five rats" who were barred from the dressing room. Four of them have left for good, but Rashford may be forced to come back, forming this summer's "stubborn residents" alongside Andre Onana, Manuel Ugarte, and Zirkzee.

Ideally, Manchester United wants to clear out all the above players, raising funds for transfers to continue improving the team. However, the players' attitudes may be key: Rashford and Ugarte are willing to move, while Onana and Zirkzee want to stay.

Manchester United signed Onana from Inter Milan for €50 million. Initially hailed as a "revolutionary goalkeeper," he later became a "deadly goalkeeper." Last season, after the club signed Senna Lammers, Onana was loaned to Turkish side Trabzonspor. There, he helped the team qualify for the Europa League and win the Turkish Cup.

Now that Manchester United has regained Champions League qualification, the 30-year-old Onana wants to return to Old Trafford, boasting he can compete with Lammers for the starting spot. However, his weekly wage will rise to the maximum due to Champions League participation, and Sir Jim Ratcliffe does not want such a high-paid substitute.

According to Turkish media "Fotomaç," Trabzonspor has submitted a bid to United to extend Onana's loan for another season and is willing to cover his full salary. Onana is said to receive a "very generous financial package." Trabzonspor club president Ertuğrul Doğan publicly stated regarding Andre Onana: "We want to loan Onana for another year."

Given that selling Onana is not easy, Ratcliffe's INEOS management team is open to another loan. However, Onana reportedly wants more time to consider, as he prefers to stay at United. When bidding farewell to Turkish fans, unlike the usual tearful sadness, Onana danced and waved, appearing almost overjoyed...

Now, everything seems to depend on Onana's own attitude. Trabzonspor chief Doğan confirmed: "Onana has achieved a lot in his career. We like him. I've said this before. He has a clear plan for his career. If the conditions are right, we hope he stays. The final decision is in Onana's hands."

If Onana decides to reject their offer, Trabzonspor will turn their attention to another player. Their Plan B is to sign a Turkish domestic goalkeeper, then use a foreign player slot for another position. Starting next season, Turkish clubs can have up to 14 foreign players in their squad, with four of them born after January 2003.

Cameroon did not qualify for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, so Onana will return to Carrington in early July. It is not yet clear whether Carrick will include him in the pre-season squad. To force Onana to leave, United could follow Amorim's approach with Rashford, Garnacho, Antony, Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia by banning him from the dressing room.

Or, similar to Hojlund, who could train but was always excluded from the matchday squad, the Danish striker with a "childhood dream of United" eventually had to abandon his desire to stay and agreed to Napoli's loan-with-obligation-to-buy deal. In clearing out surplus players, Amorim's decisiveness deserves praise.
