Bac Ninh Club will be the First Division's entrant in the playoff for a ticket to the V-League next season.
The second-to-last matchday of the First Division has ended with Truong Tuoi Dong Nai secured the title with a 3-0 win against Long An. Claiming the First Division title with one match to spare ensures that Cong Phuong and his squad get an automatic promotion ticket to next year's V-League.
In the meantime, despite Bac Ninh FC's victory, they remain 5 points behind Dong Nai as the season enters its final matchday. The second-place finish in the First Division, along with the playoff berth for a V-League slot, goes to the Kinh Bac side. They will meet the team that finishes second from bottom in the 2025/26 V-League.
The fight to avoid relegation in the 2025/26 V.League is reaching its climax as just two matchdays remain. As many as five clubs still face the threat of a playoff or direct demotion: Thanh Hoa, HAGL, Becamex Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and PVF-CAND. With narrow point differences among them, the bottom of the table is set for intense drama until the final whistle.
Against this backdrop, the Vietnam Professional Football Company (VPF) has formally announced that Ha Tinh Stadium will host the playoff to decide the final berth for the 2026/27 V.League. The match is slated for June 12 and will determine the final entry to Vietnam's top football league for the upcoming season.
Per the rules, the team finishing 13th in the V.League will take on the second-place team from the 2025/26 National First Division. The victor earns a spot in the following V.League season; the defeated side will compete in the First Division. This fixture is always regarded as crucial given its direct impact on both clubs' prospects.
Selecting Ha Tinh Stadium as the neutral ground is intended to guarantee competitive fairness for the involved sides. Moreover, this central venue is deemed appropriate regarding logistics, security, and accessibility for supporters and squads.
