Vietnam U19 step up the finishing touches on their last preparations ahead of the kickoff of the 2026 Southeast Asian U19 Championship.
On the afternoon of May 30, the Vietnam U19 team continued to maintain their training pace in Medan, Indonesia, as they approach their first match at the 2026 ASEAN U19 Championship.
The training session lasted 60 minutes, with a workload adjusted appropriately as the tournament draws near. The players focused on group coordination drills, improving connections between lines, and enhancing finishing efficiency in front of goal.
After two days in Medan, the squad has shown positive adaptation to the weather, pitch conditions, and competitive environment. The players' training morale remains high, providing a favorable basis for the coaching staff to finalize their last decisions on personnel and tactics for the opening match.
Before the afternoon session, the Vietnam U19 team attended a program on Integrity and Protection of Young Players, conducted by the tournament organizers at the team hotel. This mandatory activity for participating teams aims to raise awareness among players and team members about regulations concerning anti-corruption in football and the protection of young athletes.
According to the plan, on the morning of May 31, the head coach and some coaching staff members will attend a technical meeting and a press conference before the group stage. In the afternoon of the same day, Coach Yutaka Ikeuchi and his players will hold their final training session to complete their preparations for the opening match.
This is also the time when the coaching staff will finalize the official list of 23 players registered for the 2026 ASEAN U19 Championship, aiming for a favorable result in the first match, creating momentum for the journey in this year's tournament.
