Supercomputer directly predicts the outcome of Vietnam U19's opening match at the Southeast Asian tournament.

According to BeSoccer's supercomputer, Vietnam U19 has an overwhelming 73.3% probability of winning its first match versus Timor Leste U19 at the 2026 Southeast Asian Championship.

Vietnam U19 will enter their first game at the 2026 U19 Southeast Asian Championship against Timor Leste U19 at 4:00 PM on June 1st at Medan Stadium in Indonesia. This fixture is regarded as vital for Coach Yutaka Ikeuchi and his squad in their bid to reach the semifinals.

According to the BeSoccer supercomputer's forecast, Vietnam U19 has a 73.3% likelihood of securing a win. The probability of a draw stands at 16%, while the chance for Timor Leste U19 to spring an upset is only 10.7%. These statistics show that the young Vietnamese team is rated far above their opponent.

Beyond targeting three points, Vietnam U19 also needs a decisive win to build a favorable goal difference. Under the tournament rules, only three group winners and the best runner-up advance to the semifinals. Hence, the result against Timor Leste could significantly influence the red-shirted team's path forward.

To prepare for the competition, Vietnam U19 gathered from late April and undertook a 10-day training camp in Japan. Coach Yutaka Ikeuchi is developing a style centered on discipline, ball control, and high-intensity pressing.

Nevertheless, the team faces roster challenges as several key players are absent. Nguyen Le Phat remained to serve Ninh Binh Club, while Dinh Quang Kiet and Tran Gia Bao continue playing for HAGL in the final phase of the V-League. Overseas striker Pham Anh Khoi is also out due to a ligament injury.

Vietnam U19 has won all four most recent meetings against Timor Leste youth sides.

Despite missing some notable players, Coach Ikeuchi is confident in the current squad depth. The Japanese manager believes the team is well prepared both technically and mentally to pursue the championship goal.

On the opposing side, Timor Leste U19 has made certain strides in recent years thanks to their determined play. However, they are still viewed as inferior in squad quality, tactical organization, and match experience.

The head-to-head record also heavily favors Vietnam U19, who have won all four recent encounters. Given the current strength comparison and the BeSoccer supercomputer's evaluation, Coach Yutaka Ikeuchi's men are expected to have a smooth opening match and even achieve a comfortable victory over Timor Leste U19.
