Coach Kim Sang Sik 'throws a party' with a powerful explosion from the Vietnam national team's attack.

The V-League 2025/26 is wrapping up in an extremely favorable manner for Vietnam, with many forwards delivering standout performances just before the team convenes for the 2026 AFF Cup.

Round 25 of the 2025/26 V-League brought a wealth of encouraging signs for Coach Kim Sang Sik, as many key attacking players from the Vietnam national team simultaneously left a strong impression. With the team set to gather after the season ends to travel to South Korea for training ahead of the 2026 AFF Cup, the performances of the main strikers certainly give the coaching staff plenty of reasons for optimism.

The biggest highlight was Nguyễn Xuân Son in Nam Định's 3-0 victory over SLNA. Although the match had little significance in terms of points, the naturalized striker showcased his superior class with an impressive hat-trick. He opened the scoring with a clever header after an assist from Kevin Phạm Ba, then produced a spectacular bicycle kick to double the lead.

In the second half, Xuân Son completed his superb performance with his third goal, following a selfless assist from Tuấn Anh. This also ended his streak of six consecutive matches without scoring across all competitions. Finally, what Coach Kim Sang Sik had been waiting for most had come from the familiar faces of the Vietnam national team.

Not only Xuân Son, but many other national team players also made their mark in the penultimate round. In Pleiku, Hoàng Anh Gia Lai came from behind to defeat Hà Nội FC 3-1, officially securing their survival. Despite being on the losing side with Hà Nội, Hoàng Hên still showed notable form by scoring the opening goal for the visitors. Meanwhile, in the match between Công an TP.HCM and Viettel, Nguyễn Tiến Linh once again proved his worth with a crucial goal in the 85th minute, helping his team salvage a point after trailing for most of the game.

Besides the direct goalscorers, other attacking players from the Vietnam national team also left a significant mark. In CAHN's 2-1 win over Becamex TP.HCM, Nguyễn Đình Bắc stood out with two assists. This young player set up Alan to open the scoring in the first half, then later provided the opportunity for Leo Artur to make it 2-0 early in the second half. Đình Bắc's energetic and effective performance demonstrated clear growth just before the national team gathers.

Looking more broadly, Round 25 can be considered one of the most positive rounds for Vietnam's attack. Xuân Son rediscovered his scoring touch with an explosive hat-trick, Tiến Linh and Hoàng Hên displayed sharp goal-scoring instincts, while Đình Bắc continued to create chances with quality assists. Those performances give Coach Kim Sang Sik additional options and confidence ahead of the crucial preparation period.

After Round 26 concludes, the Vietnam national team will officially assemble and depart for a training camp in South Korea to prepare for the 2026 AFF Cup. With key strikers all scoring or assisting just before the gathering, the Korean strategist will surely view this as a major boost. If they maintain their current form, Vietnam's attack can become a crucial backbone in their quest to achieve goals at the upcoming regional tournament.
