OFFICIAL: UEFA announces the best player of the Champions League 2025/26

UEFA has recognized Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the Champions League 2025/26 best player following his outstanding season, during which he significantly contributed to PSG's successful defense of their European title.

Georgian star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been named by UEFA as the best player of the 2025/26 Champions League,after leading the charge in Paris Saint-Germain's successful defense of their European title.

In the vote by the UEFA Technical Observers group, Kvaratskhelia overcame a host of strong candidates to win the season's most prestigious individual award. The 25-year-old winger was a standout figure in coach Luis Enrique's squad, playing a major role in making PSG the first team since Real Madrid to successfully defend the Champions League title.

In the recent campaign, Kvaratskhelia made 16 appearances, scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists. Not only does he have an impressive scoring record, but the Georgian international also serves as an inspiration in PSG's attacking play thanks to his speed, technique, and ability to create opportunities from the left flank.

Kvaratskhelia's mark was evident in most key matches. In the final against Arsenal in Budapest, he earned a penalty that helped PSG equalize 1-1, setting the stage for the French club to win on penalties and lift the prestigious silver trophy.

Earlier, in a thrilling first-leg semi-final against Bayern Munich, Kvaratskhelia delivered what is considered the season's finest performance. He scored a brilliant brace, helping PSG to a dramatic 5-4 victory in one of the most exciting Champions League matches this year.

In addition to his goal-scoring and assisting abilities, Kvaratskhelia also demonstrated impressive physical stamina, covering over 124 km throughout the tournament and reaching a top speed of 33.7 km/h.

This award extends PSG's dominance of the Champions League individual honors, as last season his teammate Ousmane Dembele was also the recipient of the Best Player of the Season award.

After a sensational year, the Georgian star has cemented his status as one of the world's top attacking players and become a new symbol in PSG's golden era.
