In three years, two Champions League trophies: Enrique receives the ultimate reward; Paris will extend his contract for four years, aiming for a three-peat in the UCL.

Should the Champions League be considered the gateway to European aristocracy, then Paris’s first UCL trophy last season marked their transition from a wealthy upstart to a recognized European giant. By winning back-to-back UCL titles this season, Paris has firmly established itself as one of Europe’s premier clubs, shedding its "money" label and gaining the prestige of a storied institution.

Spanish coach Luis Enrique, having guided Paris to two UCL titles in three years, thoroughly deserves the best reward: a lucrative contract extension. This deal ensures he continues to lead the club in solidifying its elite status and long-term legacy.

According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Paris is on the verge of extending Enrique’s contract for four years, with negotiations accelerating smoothly. Sources say Paris’s hierarchy and Enrique had a verbal agreement months ago, and after all behind-the-scenes discussions, the deal is nearly finalized—a new four-year contract running until the summer of 2030. Nasser Al-Khelaifi has explicitly stated his full trust in Enrique, and Paris is committing to a long-term project, including an attempt at a historic three-peat in the Champions League next season.

Now 56, Enrique took over as Paris head coach in July 2023. Since then, he has recorded 122 wins, 27 draws, and 25 losses in all competitions, a win rate of 70.1%. Under his leadership, the club has won two UCL titles in three years, two Ligue 1 titles, and one Coupe de France.

Paris’s squad is at its peak: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (25), Désiré Doué (20), Vitinha (26), João Neves (21), Achraf Hakimi (27), Nuno Mendes (23), Willian Pacho (24), and Ousmane Dembélé (29). With consecutive UCL titles, a stable core of players and coach who are increasingly experienced in winning the Champions League, minimal pressure in Ligue 1—allowing schedule adjustments to favor UCL preparation—Paris genuinely has a strong chance of achieving a three-peat next season. And the odds are in their favor!
