The "sweeper" of the Vietnam national team pens a farewell letter to his V.League club.

After six years together with many remarkable achievements, captain Doãn Ngọc Tân has officially parted ways with Thanh Hóa, concluding a path that elevated him from a club star to an international player.

Midfielder Doãn Ngọc Tân has officially ended his emotional journey while playing for Thanh Hóa. by posting a heartfelt farewell letter to the club immediately after the conclusion of the 2025/26 V.League season.

On his personal social media, the Vietnam international emotionally stated: "Six years - one journey and countless unforgettable memories. The time has also come for Tân to bid farewell to the entire team and all Thanh Hóa football supporters.". Those words of sharing quickly garnered significant attention from fans in the Thanh region.

In his farewell message, Doãn Ngọc Tân expressed gratitude to the club's leadership, coaching staff, medical team, staff members, and teammates who had supported him throughout his time there. The 1994-born midfielder highlighted that what he takes most pride in is how the entire team collectively overcame numerous challenges to achieve the season's objectives through unity and a strong fighting spirit.

He also dedicated special words of thanks to the Thanh Hóa supporters, who have always stood by the team through every situation. According to Ngọc Tân, the warmth of the fans from the Thanh region will remain a driving force for him to keep working hard and better himself in the future.

The decision to say goodbye was made shortly after Thanh Hóa successfully secured their spot in the league. On home ground, immediately after the final game, the captain of the Thanh Hóa team shared an emotional goodbye with his teammates and the coaching staff.

Having joined Thanh Hóa in 2021, Doãn Ngọc Tân rapidly established himself as a key figure in the midfield due to his high-energy style and passionate fighting spirit. It was while wearing the Thanh Hóa jersey that he developed into one of Vietnam's premier defensive midfielders, earning a call-up to the national team under head coach Kim Sang Sik and playing a part in their AFF Cup 2024 championship triumph.

During the 2025/26 season, although he had to sit out due to a broken fibula, Ngọc Tân still made 17 appearances and contributed to Thanh Hóa's successful battle against relegation. At present, the next club for the Vietnamese international remains undisclosed, but his contributions will undoubtedly be forever cherished by Thanh Hóa supporters.
