Allegri is drifting through Serie A with his protégés, planning to bring Rabiot and Vlahović to Napoli if he takes over.

Once known as the "Little World Cup" with its seven sisters, Serie A has now become an also-ran in European competitions. My view is that the core issue behind Serie A's deterioration is a bunch of uninspired managers who hop between major Italian clubs, taking their favorite players with them. This has caused the whole league to still play football from 20 years ago, which feels outdated in European matches. Allegri perfectly embodies this trend of mediocre coaching in Serie A.

According to the latest news from Italian journalist Longo, Allegri will meet with AC Milan on June 3rd local time to discuss a contract termination. As of now, the two sides have not reached an agreement on the severance package, but a final solution is expected within the next few hours. AC Milan failed to secure a top-four finish this season and will have no Champions League football next year, so they plan to change their coach. Meanwhile, Allegri also intends to leave and take over at Napoli, a Champions League club.

It is reported that Allegri wants to start coaching Napoli immediately to take part in the pre-season and preparations. He also plans to bring along two of his former protégés: AC Milan's 31-year-old French midfielder Adrien Rabiot and Juventus's 26-year-old Serbian striker Dušan Vlahović.

Rabiot's contract with AC Milan runs until 2028, and his market value is €18 million. Vlahović's contract with Juventus expires at the end of this month, making him available on a free transfer, with a market value of €35 million. Perhaps Allegri, with Rabiot and Vlahović, could still be competitive in Serie A, but the overall competitiveness of the league has already vanished. A bunch of Italian coaches are just drifting through Serie A with tactics that never evolve, turning the league into the ultimate sleeping pill.
