Coach Kim Sang Sik's team continues to hold the 99th position globally and ranks second in Southeast Asia with 1,225.68 points.

Because they did not play during the recent FIFA Days, Vietnam was not deducted points. However, the gap with the teams just behind—El Salvador (100th) and Tajikistan (101st)—has narrowed significantly, now only 0.33 and 0.85 points respectively.

According to the plan, after the domestic professional season ends at the end of June, the Vietnam national team will regroup and travel to South Korea for training.

This is considered an important training camp to sharpen the squad and test the lineup in preparation for defending the ASEAN Cup 2026 title, a tournament set to start at the end of July.

Hoang Duc did not celebrate after scoring against The Cong Viettel

Midfielder Hoang Duc showed respect for his former club by not celebrating after his goal in the 2025/26 National Cup semifinal.

In the 42nd minute, from a pass by Fred Friday, Hoang Duc broke through and finished accurately, raising the score to 2-0 for Ninh Binh.

Instead of the usual exuberant celebration, the 1998-born midfielder simply raised his hand gently toward the stands before quickly returning to his own half. This act was seen as a tribute to the club that made his name over many years.

This is the third time Hoang Duc has faced The Cong Viettel this season. In the two previous encounters in V.League, both teams drew 1-1.

Hoang Duc and Ninh Binh Club will face Cong An TP.HCM in the National Cup final. The winner will join CAHN in qualifying for the group stage of the Southeast Asian Club Cup (Shopee Cup) next season.

The Vietnam Football Federation is closely coordinating with local authorities and clubs to finalize the last preparations regarding facilities, organization, security, medical services, and media, to ensure the best conditions for the opening day and the entire season.

This season also receives support from FIFA through the FIFA League Development Programme, covering topics on organization, media, and improving league operation capacity.

FIFA's partnership along with active coordination from local authorities is seen as an important foundation for the 2026 National Women's Football Championship – Thai Son Bac Cup to enter the new season with high expectations for professional quality and organizational work.
