Arsenal are tracking Christos Tzolis, the Club Brugge standout with remarkable statistics, in their strategy to improve the left side and strengthen their forward line this summer.
Arsenal are beginning to accelerate in the summer transfer market., and the latest name to enter North London club's radar is Christos Tzolis, the left winger from Club Brugge. At 24, the Greek international has emerged as a notable option in Mikel Arteta's plan to upgrade the attack, especially on the left flank where the Gunners need more competition, pace, and the ability to create breakthroughs.
According to David Ornstein, Arsenal are exploring the possibility of signing Tzolis from Club Brugge, with a fee potentially around €40 million. Fabrizio Romano also confirmed that the Emirates side have made initial approaches, and contacts have begun with both the club and player representatives. Meanwhile, BBC Sport's Sami Mokbel reported that sporting director Andrea Berta is actively pursuing the deal, while scout Maurizio Micheli directly watched Tzolis play in Greece's match against Sweden. Notably, Mikel Arteta is said to be in agreement with the potential signing of the 24-year-old.
Tzolis is no stranger to English football. He previously played for Norwich City without making much of an impact, before reviving his career at Fortuna Düsseldorf and then exploding onto the scene at Club Brugge. That strong resurgence caught Arsenal's attention. In the 2024/25 season, Tzolis scored 21 goals and provided 16 assists in 56 matches. In the 2025/26 season, he continued his impressive form with 22 goals and 29 assists across all competitions.
Professionally, Tzolis is a player who fits Arsenal's need to upgrade the left wing. He is right-footed, typically starts on the left and cuts inside to shoot or create passes in the half-space. This type of player can help Arsenal diversify their attacking options, especially given that Gabriel Martinelli can be inconsistent, Leandro Trossard is no longer young, and Gabriel Jesus often deals with fitness issues.
Tzolis's value lies in the fact that he is not just a goalscorer. The Greek player is also a consistent chance creator, capable of through balls, crosses, cutbacks, and combination play in the final third. Therefore, he is not merely a goalscoring winger but a blend of an inside forward and a left-sided orchestrator.
However, this is not yet a completed deal. Reliable sources currently only indicate Arsenal's interest, initial approaches, and serious evaluation. Besides Tzolis, the North London club are also pursuing several other attacking options such as Morgan Rogers or Bradley Barcola. Tzolis himself was previously of interest to Crystal Palace, but when asked about the possibility of returning to that club, he told Het Nieuwsblad: “Our coach always says that a train always moves forward”.
With a fee around €35-40 million/pounds, Tzolis could be a shrewd deal rather than a noisy blockbuster. Arsenal are not buying a proven star in the Premier League, but betting on a player who is reaching his prime, with a very high goal contribution rate and still room for growth. If Arteta finds a way to optimize him in the high-press system and positional play, Tzolis could well become the new solution for Arsenal's left wing.
