OFFICIAL: First two teams confirmed for promotion to First Division

2026 National Second Division Finals: Hanoi Youth and Hue tie for first place, earn promotion.

On the afternoon of June 13th, two matches of the 2026 National Second Division Football Finals took place at Quy Nhon Stadium (Gia Lai), thereby determining the first two teams to qualify for promotion to the 2026/27 National First Division: Hanoi Youth and Hue. Additionally, with their victories in this round, both teams also finished tied for first place in the 2026 National Second Division.

In the match played at 4:00 PM, Hanoi Youth faced Truong Giang Gia Dinh in the race for the first promotion ticket. Despite being rated higher, the capital's young team conceded first. In the 28th minute, Truong Giang Gia Dinh was awarded a penalty, and Thai Son successfully converted it to open the scoring.

However, Hanoi Youth did not take long to restore balance. In the 45+4th minute, from a free kick on the right wing by Anh Tu, Dinh Thinh leaped high to head the ball accurately, equalizing at 1-1.

In the second half, Hanoi Youth continued to control the game. Their dominance in play and ability to seize opportunities allowed coach Pham Minh Duc's side to add two more goals, scored by Anh Tu in the 63rd minute and Tien Dat in the 84th minute, securing a 3-1 victory. This result made Hanoi Youth the first team to secure promotion to the 2026/27 National First Division.

In the remaining match at 7:00 PM, Hue faced Lam Dong in the contest for the second promotion ticket. The representative from the ancient capital started energetically and quickly took the lead in the 7th minute through a goal from Lam Son.

With the advantage, Hue maintained pressure and quickly extended their lead. Huu Tuan shone with a brace in the 9th and 42nd minutes, sending the yellow-shirted team into halftime with a 3-0 lead.

In the second half, Hue played cautiously to preserve their advantage. Meanwhile, Lam Dong pushed forward and intensified their attacks in search of a comeback. Despite creating several notable chances, the Central Highlands team could not break through Hue's well-organized defense. No further goals were scored in the second half, and the match ended with a 3-0 victory for the ancient capital team.

This convincing win officially brings Hue back to the National First Division after just one season since relegation. Thus, after the first two matches of the 2026 National Second Division Finals, Hanoi Youth and Hue have become the first two teams to earn promotion to the 2026/27 National First Division. The remaining promotion spot will be decided after the play-off between Truong Giang Gia Dinh and Lam Dong, scheduled for 4:00 PM on June 16th at Quy Nhon Stadium.
