The 2026 Women's Youth Football Festival is scheduled in Dong Thap and Vinh Long, helping to spread the love of the game and scout new talents for Vietnamese women's football.
On June 14 and 15, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) will organize the 2026 Women's Youth Football Festival in Dong Thap and Vinh Long. This event is part of the Women's Football Development Program implemented by FIFA in Vietnam, aiming to spread the passion for football and encourage children, especially girls, to boldly pursue sports.
More than just a football festival, it creates a joyful and positive environment for children to interact, compete, and experience. Through various activities, the program helps them build confidence, develop skills, and foster a love for the ball from school age.
In addition to its community value, the 2026 Women's Youth Football Festival plays a crucial role in identifying and cultivating promising talents. It is seen as a bridge between school football movements and youth training systems, helping to build a future talent pool for Vietnamese women's football.
In recent years, Vietnamese women's football has made a strong mark on regional and continental stages. To sustain this success, youth training has always been a focus of investment by the VFF. Therefore, women's football festivals have become practical activities to expand football opportunities for girls across the country.
According to the plan, each locality will feature 8 U14 girls' teams from schools and community football centers, with about 180 participants. The festival in Dong Thap will be held at Dong Thap University Stadium, while the event in Vinh Long takes place at Hoang Viet Football Field in Tan Thanh Binh Commune.
Besides exciting friendly matches, the program also includes activities such as sports games, skill assessments, and player selection. Through the 2026 Women's Youth Football Festival, the VFF continues to reaffirm its commitment to developing women's football from a grassroots foundation, gradually expanding the talent scouting network and improving the quality of human resources for Vietnamese women's football in the future.
