The Vietnamese national team has set the date for its training camp to defend the ASEAN Cup title.

Kim Sang Sik, the head coach, has chosen to gather the Vietnamese squad from June 22 onward as they embark on a decisive training period aimed at retaining the ASEAN Cup 2026 title.

According to the latest information, the Vietnamese team will assemble in Hanoi from June 22, just one week after the conclusion of the 2025/26 Vietnamese professional football season.

Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players will commence a key training camp in Hanoi on June 22. On July 2, the team will depart for South Korea for a training session.

The Vietnamese national team, comprising approximately 40 members including players, coaching staff, and officials, will be based in Incheon from July 2 to July 14.

Coach Kim Sang Sik has also arranged three friendly matches against local clubs. The training and match venue will be the Incheon Munhak Sports Complex, where the Namdong training ground and the main Munhak Stadium are located close to each other. Munhak Stadium has a capacity of 50,000 seats and is approximately 30 km from Incheon International Airport.

On August 11, Hanoi Police Football Club (CAHN) will play in the 2026/27 AFC Champions League Elite playoff match at the home ground of Adelaide United.

During this period, the Vietnamese team is also preparing to enter the semifinals of the 2026 ASEAN Cup. Recently, the leadership of Hanoi Police Football Club and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) have agreed on a plan to optimize the squad preparation for the national team ahead of the Southeast Asian championship.

"As a club with the identity of an armed force, we always prioritize our responsibility to the national team and the pride of our country. Hanoi Police FC is committed to working alongside the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) in a spirit of mutual benefit, joining hands for the common goals of Vietnamese football."

The 2026 ASEAN Cup will take place from July 24 to August 26. The Vietnamese national team enters the tournament as the defending champions. They are placed in Group A and will play their opening match on July 24 away against Timor-Leste, the team that defeated Brunei in the playoff round.

After that, the Vietnamese team will face Singapore at home on July 31, Indonesia away on August 3, and Cambodia at home on August 7.

Group B consists of Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Laos.
