Coach Phùng Thanh Phương particularly lauded Vietnamese-origin goalkeeper Patrik Lê Giang, whose significant contributions helped CLB Công an TPHCM achieve a 5th-place V-League ranking and the National Cup title in the 2025/26 season.
"My emotions truly overflowed. The coaching staff and the players accomplished everything the club leadership instructed and tasked us with, and they motivated the entire team throughout this season.
This is a great achievement and a source of pride for Ho Chi Minh City football after a period of interruption and team rebuilding.
This result also serves as an encouragement for the upcoming journey of CLB Công an TPHCM.

The 5th-place finish in the V-League exceeded the target set by the leadership, and that motivation helped the team perform better in the National Cup semifinals and final, especially in terms of spirit.
In the final, the last match of the season, I conveyed to the players to go out, play, and enjoy the atmosphere in order to achieve the goal that the board of directors and the city's football fans had long awaited.
After taking a two-goal lead in the first half, I knew the players were very excited. However, football requires composure and adherence to tactical plans to complete the set tasks. The CLB Công an TPHCM players fulfilled their duties well in the second half of the final, protecting the victory.
I hope to revive the spirit and build upon what coach Lê Huỳnh Đức established.
Along with my colleagues in the coaching staff of CLB Công an TPHCM, we are the final pieces to complete the puzzle.
The team's spirit and the professional matters that coach Lê Huỳnh Đức handled during his tenure led to today's results. That is the effort of the entire CLB Công an TPHCM collective.
"This championship is a source of motivation and an image for Ho Chi Minh City football. And I believe that from this achievement, Ho Chi Minh City football will reap even better results in the future," coach Phùng Thanh Phương said in an interview after CLB Công an TPHCM won the National Cup.

Regarding captain goalkeeper Patrik Lê Giang, coach Phùng Thanh Phương assessed: "Not only in this match but throughout the past three seasons, Patrik Lê Giang has shown himself to be a very professional player, a spiritual backbone for CLB Công an TPHCM this season as well as in previous seasons.
He is a source of encouragement and a barrier for the team. Patrik Lê Giang performed effectively and excellently in the National Cup final."
The number one goalkeeper of CLB Công an TPHCM himself appeared very emotional. After celebrating with his teammates for a while, Patrik Lê Giang stepped aside to a corner and was on the verge of tears. Patrik previously won the V-League 2023 with CLB Công An Hà Nội, but that season he barely played, so that joy cannot compare to the current achievement.
