Vietnam national team assembles to prepare for the 2026 ASEAN Cup: Khoa Ngo and Tai Loc are included.

On June 15, Coach Kim Sang Sik announced the list of 28 players gathering for the second assembly of Vietnam's national team in 2026. This is a significant preparation for a series of international friendlies and the campaign to retain the ASEAN Cup 2026 championship.

This squad selection reflects a balanced mix of seasoned veterans, developing young talents, and naturalized players along with overseas Vietnamese players currently in top form. This resource diversity enhances the team's depth and fosters healthy competition across all positions.

Notably, naturalized and overseas Vietnamese players including Nguyen Xuan Son, Dang Van Lam, Do Hoang Hen, Le Giang Patrik, Nguyen Tai Loc, and Ngo Dang Khoa are all present. These players are considered vital reinforcements owing to their physical attributes, modern training foundations, and ability to adapt to different tactical setups.

Meanwhile, the team's usual backbone is retained, featuring key figures such as Nguyen Quang Hai, Nguyen Hoang Duc, Do Duy Manh, Doan Van Hau, Bui Hoang Viet Anh, Nguyen Thanh Chung, Nguyen Hai Long, and Pham Xuan Manh. The international experience of these players is anticipated to ensure the team's stability during crucial encounters.

Hanoi Police FC is the club with the highest representation, contributing six players. Despite pursuing its own objectives in Asian competitions, the police force's club continues to allow its players to join the national team camp.

Furthermore, the coaching staff is also extending opportunities to a new generation of young players such as Nguyen Dinh Bac, Nguyen Ngoc My, Nguyen Nhat Minh, Dinh Quang Kiet, and Tran Trung Kien. These individuals are regarded as having strong development potential and are included in the team's long-term roster planning.
