Vietnamese-born overseas defender Cao Pendant Quang Vinh is not included in the Vietnam national team's training camp roster for the 2026 ASEAN Cup 2026 preparations.

"I understand that the club and the federation worked together to select players from CAHN Club. So, I see no issue with that. I wish the Vietnam national team all the best and hope they win the ASEAN Cup. As for me, I will focus on the AFC Champions League Elite play-off match," Cao Quang Vinh shared on the sidelines of the V-League Awards 2025/26 ceremony on the afternoon of June 15.

For this Vietnam national team training camp, CAHN Club contributed six players: Nguyen Dinh Bac, Quang Hai, Viet Anh, Van Hau, Thanh Long, and Van Do. Nguyen Filip and Cao Pendant Quang Vinh were not included.

CAHN Club will face Adelaide United in the 2026/27 AFC Champions League Elite play-off round. The match will take place in Australia on August 11.

The Vietnam national team will convene from June 22 to prepare for their ASEAN Cup 2026 campaign.

The FIFA President acknowledged the progress of Vietnamese football on the international stage recently. For his part, VFF President Tran Quoc Tuan expressed a desire for FIFA to continue supporting Vietnamese football through long-term development programs, thereby strengthening the cooperative relationship between the VFF and FIFA.

He stated: "At the beginning, we had many international matches, lots of travel, and sometimes long trips to play away games. And to win the national championship, I always say that is the hardest thing.

Ninh Binh played very well and secured many victories. For us, maintaining a small gap between the two teams was extremely important. We kept telling ourselves every week: It's okay if they win, but we have to win too. So the key was not letting the gap widen."
