According to a Vietnam News Agency correspondent in the US, speaking at a press conference in Kansas City on June 15, coach Lionel Scaloni stated that the Argentina team is entering the tournament with a relaxed mindset and high confidence. The 48-year-old strategist emphasized that experience from the 2022 World Cup has taught the players that a multi-week tournament is not decided solely by the opening match. He shared: "We are calm because this is just a football match. The first game is always important, but it doesn't decide everything. The team is in good shape and ready for the challenge ahead."

In recent days, Lionel Messi's fitness has been a major topic for Argentina fans after the "Albiceleste" captain suffered a hamstring issue. However, coach Scaloni dispelled all worries by confirming that the 39-year-old superstar is fully capable of playing.

Not only Messi, but forward Julian Alvarez has also recovered from an ankle injury, while goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has been training normally despite a minor finger fracture. Argentina's number one goalkeeper is expected to continue starting with specially designed gloves to protect the injured area.

According to coach Scaloni, Messi's presence not only brings professional value but also creates special inspiration for the entire team. The Argentine manager said that witnessing Messi play in another World Cup is something special for football fans worldwide. Regarding personnel, defender Nicolas Tagliafico is the only case that needs further evaluation after the final training session. Apart from that, the entire 26-player squad is in good physical condition.

Having impressive squad depth is giving coach Scaloni an advantage. Players like Marcos Senesi and the group of young players who matured after the 2022 World Cup provide Argentina with more options in their title defense. Coach Scaloni affirmed that his most important philosophy remains maintaining balance in playing style. Even if some quality players have to sit on the bench, the collective interest always comes first.

After facing Algeria, Argentina will successively take on Austria and Jordan in Group J. With nearly full strength and the timely return of key stars, the "Albiceleste" are sending a clear signal that they are ready for the journey to defend their World Cup crown on American soil.
