Just one day before the first match! England officially announces a roster change: £45 million left-back exits the World Cup, and a Chelsea defender is called up as a replacement.

On the evening of June 16th, Beijing time, just one day before their opening match, England's official announcement stated that left-back Livramento, with a worth of €45 million, had to withdraw from the World Cup because of an injury. Chelsea's defender Chalobah has been selected as his replacement.

It is reported that Livramento incurred a calf injury during training on Sunday afternoon. Following scans and medical assessments, it was unfortunately confirmed that he could not further participate in England’s campaign in this tournament.

According to British media, Livramento has a hamstring injury to his hamstring and is expected to be out for six weeks. This 23-year-old English rising star had say goodbye to the World Cup with regret just one day before the opening match, while Chalobah became the fortunate substitute. However, the widely-touted Manchester United central defender Maguire remains excluded.

Chalobah, now 26 years old, made 47 appearances for Chelsea last season for Chelsea, scoring 3 goals. His current market value, according to the latest data from Transfermarkt, is €40 million euros.

England is arranging for Chalobah to head to the team's base camp in Kansas City, while other team members will travel to Dallas, Texas, to prepare for their first group match against Croatia on Wednesday. This means that for the match Croatia, England will only have only 25 players available.

According to FIFA regulations, a rule, a participating team is allowed to substitute one outfield player within 24 hours before the first kickoff. At 4:00 AM on the 18th, England will face its strongest group opponent, Croatia, in its World Cup opener.
