The Vietnam eFootball team secures a spot in FIFAe's continental championship.

The Vietnam eFootball team qualified for the FIFAe Continental Championship 2026, a notable achievement in their debut season within FIFAe's official tournament structure.

The ticket to the continental event was secured by the Vietnamese team in the Console category, following their campaign in the 2026 FIFAe Nations League. The tournament spanned three weeks of competition, with team performances calculated to determine qualification for the FIFAe Continental Championship.

In Console Week 3, the Vietnam eFootball team impressed by reaching the semifinals, thereby accumulating crucial points. At the conclusion of the 2026 FIFAe Nations League, Vietnam ranked among the Top 3 in the East Asia Consistency Points standings and claimed one of the region's five berths for the 2026 FIFAe Continental Championship.

This is a notable achievement as Vietnam makes its debut in FIFAe's official competition system. As a newly participating team, the Vietnamese players quickly made their mark and earned the right to enter the continental stage.

The FIFAe Continental Championships are a regional-level competition introduced for the first time into the FIFAe tournament system in 2026, serving as the final round before the 2026 FIFAe World Cup. The events are held in five regions: Asia, Europe, Africa, North and Central America, and South America, while Oceania has a mechanism to compete for a spot via an intercontinental playoff.

The 2026 FIFAe Continental Championship Asia will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from August 19 to 22, covering both the eFootball Console and eFootball Mobile categories.

In the Console category, eight national teams will compete in a single round-robin format. The top two teams advance directly to the semifinals, while teams placed third through sixth enter the quarterfinals.

The two winners of the semifinals will directly earn a ticket to the 2026 FIFAe World Cup. The two losing semifinalists enter a "second chance" match, where the winner earns the right to participate in an intercontinental playoff against Oceania's representative for an additional spot in the FIFAe World Cup.

Securing a spot in the FIFAe Continental Championship thus opens up an opportunity for the Vietnam eFootball team to advance further on their journey towards the global stage. The team will continue preparing for the tournament in Malaysia this coming August.
