Weekend reports suggest that following their failure to land Matheus Fernandes, Manchester United are still in touch with West Ham and are keen on acquiring their Dutch wide player, Crysencio Summerville. According to TEAMtalk's transfer specialist Graeme Bailey, United reckon that West Ham's relegation would slash Summerville's valuation from £70 million to £40 million, drawing interest from numerous clubs.

Another British outlet claims that Summerville "only wants to join Manchester United" and has communicated this to his agent, citing the Red Devils' Champions League participation and title contention. However, this assertion is likely just hype; if Summerville does not move, he would be playing in the Championship with West Ham, so he certainly would not restrict himself to only United, just like his former teammate M. Fee.
In particular, United may not sign a new winger at all—it depends on whether Rashford stays or leaves. The 28-year-old England winger's £325,000 weekly wage limits his potential suitors to very few. Moreover, Rashford himself is keen on Barcelona, and if he cannot be loaned to the Camp Nou again, he will refuse transfers to other Premier League clubs and consider remaining at United.
If Rashford stays, United will not buy another forward. Therefore, unless Summerville is irrational, he would not ask his agent to negotiate only with United, even though he is indeed a player of interest to the Red Devils. According to the Manchester Evening News, a transfer is unlikely in the short term, but in the long run, he seems destined to leave the Hammers.
It must be emphasized that after selling 21-year-old M. Fee for £85 million, West Ham's negotiating position is now much stronger; they have no urgent need to sell and will not consider discounting Summerville. The Hammers are reportedly asking for over £50 million. Given that Summerville scored only nine goals last season, the £50 million asking price may be too high.

On Saturday, Manchester United held a signing ceremony for academy scholarship players. Among those confirmed were Wayne Rooney's eldest son, Kai Rooney; manager Michael Carrick's son, Jacey Carrick; as well as Gazik Ibragimov, Edson Dejonge-Seiros, Harlem McLaughlin, Pharell Silvester, Connor Laurie, and Jaume Camacho.
The players' parents also attend the ceremony, so Carrick and Rooney were both present. Among them, first-team manager Carrick may look for suitable youngsters from this group to integrate into the senior squad next season. The most promising candidate is the 15-year-old prodigy JJ Gabriel, who has not yet signed.
If United do not sign any new attackers, Gabriel might have a chance to make his first-team debut in domestic cup competitions next season. Should he play for the senior team before October, he would break the club's record for the youngest-ever appearance. The current record is held by David Gaskell, who made his debut at 16 years and 19 days in the 1956 Charity Shield against Manchester City.
Recently, the young Englishman answered some questions. He revealed his personal idol is Neymar, but he considers Messi the best player of all. His ideal five-a-side team consists of himself, Casillas, Neymar, Ronaldinho, and Ronaldo. Gabriel also boldly stated that his dream is to win the Ballon d'Or in the future.

When asked what he has learned from being with the Manchester United first team, Gabriel replied, "You have to work hard." And when asked to imagine his ideal debut scenario for the Red Devils' senior squad, he answered, "Come off the bench, score a goal, and help the team win."
