The Vietnam national team began their training trip in South Korea on a positive note, defeating Siheung FC 6-0 in the opening friendly match.
In this match, Coach Kim Sang Sik actively experimented with the lineup by fielding two different formations, one for each half. This provided an opportunity for the coaching staff to evaluate the squad, test the tactical system, and assess the integration of new players.

The Vietnam national team quickly established a favorable match rhythm. Việt Cường opened the scoring in the 2nd minute, followed by a brace from Hai Long in the 31st and 39th minutes, giving Vietnam a 3-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Coach Kim Sang Sik continued to make personnel adjustments. Đỗ Hoàng Hên scored two consecutive goals in the 48th and 52nd minutes. Notably, Xuân Son left his mark with an assist for Hoàng Hên, making the score 5-0. Đình Bắc sealed the 6-0 victory for Vietnam with a goal in the 83rd minute.

This result carries positive significance for the Vietnam national team in their preparations for the 2026 ASEAN Cup. More importantly, the match allowed Coach Kim Sang Sik to gain further insights into his personnel and tactical options ahead of upcoming challenges.
According to the plan, the Vietnam national team will continue training in Incheon and will play their second friendly match against Yongin FC (K.League 2) on July 8th. This will be a more difficult test, helping Coach Kim Sang Sik further refine his tactical plans for the 2026 ASEAN Cup.
