The tallest defender in history speaks honestly about his first time with the Vietnam National Team

Although he has been called up several times, this is the first time in his career that defender Dinh Quang Kiet has been able to participate in a training camp with the Vietnam National Team.

Before the training session with the Vietnam National Team in South Korea, young defender Dinh Quang Kiet shared his thoughts on being part of a national team training camp for the first time. Quang Kiet stated: "This is my first time training with the Vietnam National Team, so I am very happy and quite surprised. This is a huge opportunity for me to learn, to reflect on myself, and to look toward the future."

At the age of 19, Dinh Quang Kiet is the youngest player in the Vietnam National Team squad this time. After a season showing significant progress in the Hoang Anh Gia Lai jersey, the 1m96 tall defender said that training with his more experienced seniors is a precious opportunity to continue improving himself. "Through each training session and practice match, I always try to observe and learn from my teammates in the same position to gain more experience and mature further," Quang Kiet shared.

Assessing the competition within the team, the young Hoang Anh Gia Lai defender believes this is the motivation for all players to work harder. "Everyone wants to be selected for the matchday squad and contribute to the national team. Therefore, we are all giving our best in every training session," Quang Kiet emphasized.

On the afternoon of July 5th, the Vietnam National Team will play their first friendly match in South Korea against Siheung FC, a team currently competing in K.League 3. This will be an opportunity for Coach Kim Sang Sik to test his squad, evaluate the team's tactical execution, and give many players a chance to showcase their abilities before the next friendly matches against Yongin FC (K.League 2) and Gangwon FC (K.League 1).

The Vietnam National Team concluded their first friendly match of the South Korea training camp with a resounding 6-0 victory over Siheung FC. Although the opponent is only playing in K.League 3 and not considered a very tough test, this performance still brought many positive signals for Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players during their preparation for upcoming objectives.
