Nam Dinh is simultaneously upgrading Thien Truong Stadium and restructuring its squad, ready to aim for a return to the championship race in the 2026/27 season.
Concluding the 2025/26 season in 6th place in the V.League, Nam Dinh FC has quickly begun preparations for the new season. Not only investing in upgrading Thien Truong Stadium, the team from Nam Dinh is also making strong changes to its squad with the goal of returning to the top group race and reclaiming its image as a title contender.
One of the most notable moves is the renovation of Thien Truong Stadium. Although this pitch was just voted as having the best grass quality last season, the club's management still decided to replant new grass and upgrade several other facilities. Continuing to invest in infrastructure shows the ambition to create the best playing conditions for the players, while maintaining the image of one of the most modern stadiums with the most vibrant atmosphere in the country.
Alongside infrastructure improvements, Nam Dinh is also carrying out a large-scale squad restructuring. As the 2026/27 season only involves the V.League and the National Cup, the team proactively streamlined its foreign player lineup. Five foreign players including Brenner, Akolo, Lucas Alves, Mahmoud Eid, and Mitchell Dijks have bid farewell to the club after the season ended.
Currently, Nam Dinh retains three foreign players: Caio Cesar, Romulo, and Lu Samba. The coaching staff, led by coach Vu Hong Viet, is continuing to search for one more foreign player to complete the registration slot according to regulations. On the other hand, the team has also promptly reinforced its domestic player pool with three new recruits: goalkeeper Trinh Xuan Hoang, midfielder Tran Manh Quynh, and defender Dam Tien Dung, aiming to increase squad depth.
Amidst rumors suggesting that Nam Dinh would cut investment or withdraw from the V.League, the club's management quickly denied them. CEO Lam Van Thoa affirmed that all preparation activities, from stadium upgrades and personnel additions to the assembly plan, show the team still harbors great ambitions for the new season. He also refuted rumors related to many players leaving the club while still under contract.
Nam Dinh officially assembled on July 2nd to prepare for the 2026/27 season. After a season that did not meet expectations, the Nam Dinh team is showing a determination for a comprehensive renewal in both facilities and personnel. With synchronized investment and quality additions, Coach Vu Hong Viet's squad aims to quickly return to the group competing for the championship, rather than just being part of the mid-table race like last season.
