The lineup of teams for the men's football event at the 2026 Asian Games has been officially confirmed prior to the draw on July 23. After last-minute changes, the region Southeast Asia will have three representatives: U23 Vietnam, U23 Thailand, and U23 Philippines. After India's withdrawal, the final slot was given to U23 Philippines, thereby helping a Southeast Asian representative to participate in the 2026 Asian Games.

The inclusion of U23 Philippines means Southeast Asia will have three teams in the men's football competition: U23 Vietnam, U23 Thailand, and U23 Philippines. Among them, U23 Vietnam is considered to have a significant advantage ahead of the draw. thanks to their bronze medal achievement at the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup. This result allows coach Kim Sang Sik's squad a chance to be in a more favorable seeding group compared to their regional rivals.

According to the schedule, the men's football event of the 2026 Asian Games will take place from September 19 to October 4 in Japan.
