Hanoi Police FC (CAHN) has officially secured Spanish midfielder Damià Sabater on a free transfer to prepare for the 2026/27 season. Immediately after signing the contract, the former Spain U17 international gave his first enthusiastic remarks, emphasizing that this is one of the most important decisions of his career and expressing his determination to win titles with the police club.
In his introductory interview, Damià Sabater could not hide his excitement about joining the reigning V.League champions. He said: "This is one of the biggest steps I have taken in my career. Because when I heard about the opportunity to come here, I couldn't believe it. This is one of the best clubs in Asia and one of the biggest teams in Vietnam. For me, this opportunity is very important for my career, to become a better player, to help the team, and to grow together with the collective."
The 1996-born midfielder also revealed that CAHN's ambition was the key factor in his decision to move to Vietnam. Sabater believes the club still has many major goals ahead and looks forward to accompanying his teammates in conquering new milestones. "When I saw the objectives the club is aiming for, it was truly wonderful. I think we will have a very good season, and there is still a long journey ahead for us to conquer together. Besides focusing on the V.League, Damià Sabater also specifically mentioned the AFC Champions League Elite playoff match against Adelaide United, which is seen as CAHN's first major challenge of the new season. He affirmed: "We have a very important match to qualify for the AFC Champions League Elite. We must win to take part in Asia's biggest tournament. From now on, the whole team must prepare well because this is the most crucial match."
