Dong Nai's new recruit speeds up transfer, signs V-League-winning defender.

Truong Tuoi Dong Nai continues to reinforce its lineup for the 2026/27 season by signing defender Nguyen Van Duc, who recently helped Hanoi Police FC claim the V-League 2025/26 championship.

Nguyen Van Duc is among Vietnam's most seasoned full-backs. Known for his offensive and defensive skills, he was once selected for the V-League 2023/24 Best XI.

In the recent season, Van Duc donned the jersey of Hanoi Police FC and played a role in their campaign to capture the V-League 2025/26 title.

Nguyen Van Duc's signing is anticipated to give head coach Nguyen Viet Thang more quality choices on the flank as Truong Tuoi Dong Nai makes its comeback to Vietnam's top-tier league.

Nguyen Van Duc is one of four initial recruits that Truong Tuoi Dong Nai added during the 2026 summer transfer period. The remaining three players are goalkeeper Pham Van Phong, central defender Bui Tien Dung, and full-back Phan Van Hieu.

Pham Van Phong adds more experience to the goalkeeping role, whereas Bui Tien Dung and Phan Van Hieu are hoped to reinforce the team's defense. The successive signings of seasoned professionals indicate that Truong Tuoi Dong Nai is focusing on improving its backline before the new campaign.

Apart from local signings, the club from Southeast Vietnam has also made waves in the transfer market with Romanian forward Andrei Ivan. The 29-year-old striker, who has earned 17 appearances for Romania, is already in Vietnam completing the necessary formalities for his move to Truong Tuoi Dong Nai.

Some reports also hint at Truong Tuoi Dong Nai acquiring three Serbian players: Filip Jovic, Andrija Majdevac, and Milos Vulic. However, these players are part of the officially announced new signings by the club.

Having clinched the 2025/26 First Division title and secured a spot in the V-League, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai is undertaking robust squad building steps.

Even though the team is actively reinforcing its roster, head coach Nguyen Viet Thang has identified survival in the top flight as the primary objective for the 2026/27 season.
