Paulo Mourinho will become an assistant coach for CAHN, supporting head coach Mano Polking in place of Mavi Lopez.
Hanoi Police Club continues to strengthen its technical staff ahead of the new season by adding Paulo Mourinho to the coaching team. The Portuguese assistant, born in 1987, has completed all necessary procedures and started working with the police club. He will serve as the first assistant coach, directly supporting head coach Alexandre "Mano" Polking in tactical development and team management.
Paulo Mourinho began his career as a player but had limited opportunities in professional football. His early transition to coaching allowed him to gain experience from a very young age. At 21, Mourinho took charge of the U19 team of Ribeirense, later working at various clubs and youth academies in his native Portugal.
A turning point in Mourinho's career came in 2018 when he moved to Thailand and joined the coaching staff of Bangkok United. There, he began working as an assistant to Mano Polking and built a long-lasting professional relationship. After Polking accepted the role of head coach of the Thai national team, the 1987-born assistant moved to Australia to gain further experience in a new football environment.
At the end of 2025, Paulo Mourinho returned to Thailand to serve as an assistant to coach Wasapol at Kanchanaburi FC. However, this period was short-lived as the entire coaching staff was dismissed by the club due to unsatisfactory results in the final part of the season. His reunion with Polking at Hanoi Police is therefore expected to help Mourinho quickly settle into the job.
Not only upgrading the coaching staff, the V.League 2025/26 champions also strengthened their squad with the signing of Dinh Thanh Binh. The forward, born in 1998, has joined the team and begun training with his new teammates. Thanh Binh previously participated in the 2017 U20 World Cup, regularly featured in youth national teams, and was called up to the senior national team by coach Philippe Troussier. Since 2024, he has earned seven additional appearances under coach Kim Sang-sik.
Hanoi Police also recruited two foreign players: Henen David and Brayan Perea. David has played two seasons for Da Nang, while Perea recently finished as runner-up with Port FC in the 2025/26 Thai League 1. Earlier, the club announced striker Damia Sabater and goalkeeper Y Eli Nie. These consecutive additions demonstrate the ambition to build a deep squad capable of competing in multiple competitions in the upcoming season.
