During the meeting this afternoon, July 12, in Incheon (South Korea), VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu engaged with officials from the Incheon Football Association, as the Vietnamese squad approaches the last stage of their pre-tournament training trip for the 2026 ASEAN Championship.
Attending the session were Mr. Seo Young Deuk, CEO of the Incheon Football Association, and Mr. Lee Dong Jun, CEO of DJ Management, which collaborated with the VFF to organize the Vietnam team's training program in South Korea.
VFF Vice President Tran Anh Tu expressed gratitude to the Incheon Football Association and local partners for supporting the Vietnam team with training grounds, facilities, and logistics. This cooperation enabled Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players to follow their professional plan and maintain favorable training conditions throughout their stay in Incheon.

The VFF leader also voiced a desire for continued collaboration between the two parties in organizing future training camps, friendly matches, professional exchanges, and football development initiatives.
On behalf of the Incheon Football Association, Mr. Seo Young Deuk stated that his organization is delighted that Vietnam selected Incheon as their training base before the 2026 ASEAN Championship. The Incheon football representative affirmed ongoing support and partnership for the team during the remaining days of the camp.
The Vietnam team arrived in Incheon on July 2 and is scheduled to conclude the training camp on July 14. According to the coaching staff's plan, the difficulty of three practice matches gradually increased, with opponents from K.League 3, K.League 2, and K.League 1 respectively. This is seen as the final refinement of squad strength, fitness, and tactics before the team embarks on their campaign to defend the Southeast Asian title.
In the first friendly on July 5, Vietnam defeated Siheung FC, a K.League 3 side, 6-0. Coach Kim Sang Sik employed various personnel options to provide playing time and assess player form.
In the second match against Yongin FC on July 8, Vietnam won 2-1. Nguyen Hai Long opened the scoring in the 9th minute before Yongin equalized late in the first half. In the second half, Xuan Son leaped to head in the decisive goal in the 75th minute.
In both matches, Coach Kim Sang Sik used two different lineups, each playing one half. This arrangement indicates that the coaching staff's primary goal was not just results, but also to review the squad, evaluate players' adaptability, and test various tactical setups.

Tomorrow, July 13, Vietnam will play their final practice match against Gangwon FC, a K.League 1 side. This opponent is the strongest among the three "test teams" in South Korea and is considered a valuable assessment of the team's organization, work rate, and competitive strength.
Goalkeeper Dang Van Lam noted that the match against Gangwon FC will provide the coaching staff with more basis for evaluating the squad before finalizing selections for the 2026 ASEAN Championship. The team is currently maintaining high training intensity, while central defender Do Duy Manh has returned to ball training after recovering from injury.
After concluding their training camp in South Korea, Coach Kim Sang Sik and his players will return home to continue preparations for an international friendly against Myanmar at Thai Nguyen Stadium on July 18. This is regarded as the final dress rehearsal before Vietnam enters the 2026 ASEAN Championship with the goal of defending their title.
