Becamex TP.HCM parts ways with Mr. Đặng Trần Chỉnh, ushering in a new chapter under coach Gerard Albadalejo

Becamex TP.HCM Club has officially bid farewell to Mr. Đặng Trần Chỉnh after nearly two decades of association, closing a chapter marked by the many contributions of a manager who held various key roles at the Thu-based team.

According to the club's announcement, in light of organizational restructuring and new work requirements, and after considering factors such as age and health, Mr. Đặng Trần Chỉnh voluntarily requested to step down from his position as General Director of Becamex TP.HCM Football Club Joint Stock Company, along with all his current responsibilities. This decision was made to facilitate the club's further consolidation of its management structure, aiming for development in the next phase.

Joining the club in 2009, Mr. Đặng Trần Chỉnh accompanied the former Becamex Bình Dương and the current Becamex TP.HCM through many ups and downs. Beyond his managerial role, he frequently engaged directly in professional work, even stepping onto the coaching bench during times of personnel crisis at the club.

In its farewell message, Becamex TP.HCM highly praised Mr. Đặng Trần Chỉnh's sense of responsibility and dedication, noting that he always prioritized the club's interests above personal pressure and was ready to face public scrutiny during the most difficult periods.

Mr. Đặng Trần Chỉnh's departure also marks a significant step in the club's rebuilding process after being relegated to the National First Division for the 2026/27 season.

Earlier, Becamex TP.HCM had appointed Spanish strategist Gerard Albadalejo Castano as head coach on a one-year contract.

The coach, who previously worked at Ninh Bình Club, is expected to build a distinctive playing style and help the team compete for a return to the V-League in the 2026/27 season.

Under the guidance of coach Gerard Albadalejo Castano and the new management team, Becamex TP.HCM is aiming for a comprehensive overhaul, with the goal of quickly restoring the club to its former standing as one of the most traditional clubs in Vietnamese football.
