OFFICIAL: Former V.League champion bids farewell to key figure after nearly 20 years

Becamex TP.HCM has formally bid farewell to Mr. Dang Tran Chinh after nearly twenty years of association, marking the start of a reconstruction period with a revamped organization and coaching team.

Becamex TP.HCM Club has just officially said goodbye to Mr. Dang Tran Chinh after nearly two decades of involvement, closing a long chapter for one of the most influential figures in the Thu Duc team. The decision was made in the context of the club undergoing a comprehensive restructuring after being relegated to the National First Division for the 2026/27 season, aiming for an early return to V.League.

According to an announcement from Becamex TP.HCM, Mr. Dang Tran Chinh voluntarily requested to step down from his role as General Director of Becamex TP.HCM Football Club Joint Stock Company and all his current responsibilities. This decision stems from changes in the club's organizational structure, as well as considerations of age and health. The club's leadership stated that this is a necessary step to streamline the apparatus and prepare for a new development phase.

Joining the club in 2009, Mr. Dang Tran Chinh has accompanied both the former Becamex Binh Duong and the current Becamex TP.HCM through many memorable milestones. Not only did he take on managerial roles, but he also directly engaged in professional work on several occasions, even stepping in as head coach during times of personnel turmoil. His flexibility and sense of responsibility made him one of the longest-serving figures at the club.

In the farewell message, Becamex TP.HCM expressed gratitude to Mr. Dang Tran Chinh for his contributions over nearly 20 years. The club acknowledged that he always prioritized collective interests, ready to face public pressure to help the team overcome difficult periods. His contributions are regarded as an important foundation in the club's development across generations.

Mr. Dang Tran Chinh's departure from his executive position also marks a significant shift in Becamex TP.HCM's rebuilding plan. Previously, the club had appointed Spanish coach Gerard Albadalejo Castano under a one-year contract. The 1983-born manager is expected to build a new playing style while helping the club compete for a return to V.League as early as the 2026/27 season.

With a series of changes from the top management to the coaching staff, Becamex TP.HCM is opening a new chapter after a period of upheaval. The club's goal is not only to quickly secure a return to Vietnam's top flight but also to build a stable foundation, aiming to reclaim its status as one of the most traditional clubs in Vietnamese football.
