V.League teams accelerate preparations for the new season

V.League clubs are intensifying their training sessions, completing their rosters and tactics before the 2026/27 season officially kicks off.

Just a few days after regrouping, many V.League clubs have quickly entered high-intensity training phases to prepare for the 2026/27 season. From away training trips to in-depth physical and tactical programs, all teams are speeding up their squad preparations ahead of the new season's official start.

Ninh Binh is one of the earliest teams to implement their plan. After gathering on July 2, coach Chu Dinh Nghiem's squad moved to Mong Cai (Quang Ninh) for physical training from July 4 to 11. This is a familiar location that the strategist used during his time leading Hai Phong. The training camp not only helps players regain their fitness after the break but also allows coach Chu Dinh Nghiem to strengthen bonds with his players after taking over the team late last season.

After finishing the training camp in Mong Cai, Ninh Binh moved to Phu Tho from July 12 to 19 to focus on tactical drills. The team has basically completed their roster as loaned players returned to the squad, while new foreign players including Lucas Turci, Marciel, Romeu Martins, Lucao, and Friday have all arrived. With strong investment in personnel, the V.League newcomer hopes to make an impression in their first season at the top level of Vietnamese football.

In the south, Nam Dinh has also entered an important preparation phase with a training camp in Phu Yen (now part of Dak Lak province) lasting from July 6 to 19. Coach Vu Hong Viet's team maintains a schedule of two sessions per day, combining beach fitness drills with technical and tactical exercises on the grass. Besides retaining their three foreign players Caio Cesar, Romulo, and Lu Samba, Nam Dinh has also added several quality domestic players and continues to search for a foreign center-back to increase competitiveness for the new season.

Not only Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh, but many other teams have also simultaneously resumed their preparation routines. Da Nang has just completed their first week of training with beach runs and plans to hold a training camp in the North in the coming time. Meanwhile, Hanoi FC, Hai Phong, and defending champions CAHN have all regrouped fully, starting to implement training programs to build physical foundations, finalize squads, and test playing styles before a series of friendly matches.

According to the plan, the 2026/27 national professional football season will kick off with the National Super Cup match between CAHN and CATP.HCM on August 30, before the V.League officially starts on September 4. Therefore, the current training period is considered a crucial phase for clubs to complete all preparation aspects, ready to enter a race that promises to be highly competitive and exciting in the new season.
