Foreign player who won special award in Thai League arrives at V.League 'big club'

Ninh Bình FC has officially signed Brazilian midfielder Romeu Martins from the Thai League, further strengthening their lineup for the 2026/2027 V.League campaign.

Ninh Bình FC continues to demonstrate their great ambition ahead of the 2026/2027 V.League season, as they officially announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Romeu Martins Rezende. He is the latest newcomer to join the 'Ancient Capital' club during the summer transfer window, helping to complete the squad with the aim of competing for the top positions in the new season.

Born in 1998, Romeu Martins stands 1.85 meters tall and specializes in the defensive midfield role. Additionally, the Brazilian player can also take on the role of central midfielder thanks to his excellent coverage of the midfield area. With his strong physical foundation, aggressive playing style, and effective tackling ability, Romeu is regarded as a modern midfielder capable of contributing both defensively and in building play from the back.

Before moving to Vietnam, Romeu played for Sukhothai FC in Thai League 1 during the 2025/2026 season. Wearing the colors of the Thai football representative, the 28-year-old midfielder left his mark by scoring 5 goals and providing 1 assist in 27 appearances in the national league. Across all competitions, he contributed 6 goals in 29 matches, a fairly impressive record for a player with a defensive focus.

The acquisition of Romeu is expected to give head coach Chu Đình Nghiêm more quality options in midfield.
