Coach Kim Sang Sik finalizes the 26-player Vietnam national team roster for the 2026 ASEAN Cup

Coach Kim Sang Sik has officially confirmed the 26-player squad for Vietnam's participation in the 2026 ASEAN Cup after training camps and player assessments. The roster indicates that the Korean manager maintains confidence in a seasoned foundation, while also taking the initiative to include numerous young talents currently in strong form at the V.League.

In the goalkeeper position, Đặng Văn Lâm is the most experienced figure, joined by Trần Trung Kiên and Lê Giang Patrik. This trio is expected to provide stability between the posts for the national team.

The defense consists of 10 players, featuring key figures such as Đỗ Duy Mạnh, Nguyễn Thành Chung, Đoàn Văn Hậu, Bùi Hoàng Việt Anh, Nguyễn Văn Vĩ, and Phạm Xuân Mạnh. Additionally, Coach Kim Sang Sik has given chances to young faces like Nguyễn Nhật Minh, Đinh Quang Kiệt, and Trương Tiến Anh to add depth to the backline.

The midfield continues to be built around established performers like Nguyễn Hoàng Đức, Nguyễn Quang Hải, Nguyễn Hai Long, and Lê Phạm Thành Long. Meanwhile, Khuất Văn Khang, Lê Văn Đô, Nguyễn Ngọc Mỹ, and Đỗ Hoàng Hên are expected to offer additional tactical options in the team's playing style.

Up front, Nguyễn Xuân Son remains the biggest hope with his ability to create breakthroughs and score goals. Joining the Nam Định striker are Nguyễn Đình Bắc, Phạm Gia Hưng, Nguyễn Tài Lộc, and Nguyễn Trần Việt Cường, forming a blend of experience and youth in the attack.

According to the schedule, Vietnam is placed in Group A alongside Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Timor-Leste. Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will start their campaign with an away match in Chonburi (Thailand) against Timor-Leste, followed by games against Singapore, Indonesia, and Cambodia, with the goal of reaching the semifinals and successfully defending their championship.

As planned, on the morning of July 20, the Vietnam national team will depart for Thailand to begin their journey to defend the 2026 ASEAN Championship title.

Earlier, on July 18, the team will play a final friendly match in Thái Nguyên against the Myanmar national team.
