Phan Van Duc is set to depart from CAHN on a loan move, aiming for more frequent appearances in the upcoming campaign.
Phan Van Duc is preparing to leave CAHN and join another V-League club on loan. This deal comes as a surprise since the midfielder, born in 1996, still has a contract with the police club until June 2028.
Earlier, in June 2025, Phan Van Duc signed a three-year contract extension with CAHN. Therefore, his departure now is not a permanent farewell but only a temporary move. The primary goal for the Nghe An-born player is to get more playing time and regain his best form.
Phan Van Duc joined CAHN at the start of the 2023 season with high expectations. However, a torn ligament injury forced him to take a long break and miss most of his first season. It was not until the end of the 2023/24 V-League campaign that the former SLNA player could return to the pitch.
After recovering, Van Duc gradually regained his form. His positive performances earned him a recall to the Vietnam national team by coach Kim Sang Sik. However, he was not included in the final squad for the 2024 AFF Cup, showing that the path back to the top is still challenging.
In the 2024/25 season, CAHN significantly strengthened their squad to compete in multiple competitions. The arrival of new players like Dinh Bac and Van Do, along with increasing squad depth, reduced Phan Van Duc's chances of starting. Nevertheless, he still made 20 appearances and scored one goal.
Moving into the 2025/26 season, the situation became even more difficult. Van Duc was no longer a regular starter and mostly came off the bench. Therefore, moving to another club on loan was considered a reasonable decision for both the player and CAHN.
During his time with the police club, Phan Van Duc managed to win several notable titles with the team, including 2 championships V-League, 1 National Cup, 1 Super Cup, and the runner-up in the 2024/25 ASEAN Club Championship.
At the age of 30, Phan Van Duc is still regarded as an experienced player with speed, dribbling ability, and the capacity to make a difference. If given regular playing time, he can fully regain his form and keep hope of returning to the Vietnam national team.
