On the afternoon of July 14, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), leaders of VFF and the Criminal Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) convened to evaluate the outcomes of their joint efforts in curbing misconduct in football for the first half of 2026, and to align on the strategic approach for future activities.
During the meeting, both sides acknowledged that their recent collaboration has contributed to improving the effectiveness of preventing, detecting, and handling legal violations, particularly those negative behaviors that could threaten the integrity of the tournaments.
In the time ahead, VFF and the Criminal Police Department will continue to maintain a close coordination mechanism, enhance information exchange, promptly verify and address cases showing signs of violations, and step up public awareness campaigns to improve legal knowledge among players, coaches, referees, club officials, and others involved in football activities.

The two units affirmed their determination to build a transparent and professional football environment, contributing to ensuring that national tournaments are conducted fairly, in accordance with regulations, and with minimal negative behaviors.
The continued tightening of coordination between VFF and the Criminal Police Department is regarded as one of the key measures to enhance the effectiveness of anti-corruption efforts and protect the sustainable development of Vietnamese football.
Regarding preparations for the 2026 ASEAN Championship (Asean Championship), the Criminal Police Department will continue to coordinate and support the VFF in ensuring security, safety, and preventing misconduct for the Vietnamese national team during its preparation and participation in the tournament.
The two sides will also strengthen cooperation in implementing security and safety measures at matches of the Vietnamese national team at the My Dinh National Stadium; proactively prevent, detect, and stop the use of firecrackers, flares, and public order disturbances by unruly fans, thereby helping to ensure that matches are conducted safely and in compliance with the regulations of international football organizations.
