V.League newcomer creates transfer frenzy with a series of quality signings

Truong Tuoi Dong Nai has successively brought in high-quality rookies, revealing their grand aspirations for the V.League 2026/27 campaign.

In just a short span of time, the V.League newcomer Truong Tuoi Dong Nai has repeatedly stirred up the transfer market with a series of remarkable contracts. The Southeast region team has shown strong investment to build a squad capable of competing right from their debut season at the highest level of Vietnamese football.

The latest arrival at Truong Tuoi Dong Nai is Serbian striker Andrija Majdevac. The 1997-born forward previously played for Serbian youth teams, including the U18 side, and gained experience in several European leagues with Panetolikos, Debrecen, Novi Pazar, and most recently Napredak. In the 2025/26 season, Majdevac made 29 appearances across all competitions, scoring 9 goals and contributing 2 assists. With his ideal physique, powerful driving runs, and versatile finishing, the 28-year-old is expected to become a key attacking threat for the club.

Earlier, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai also drew attention by signing striker Andrei Ivan, a Romanian international with years of experience at the international level. Playing for Universitatea Craiova, the 1997-born forward scored 72 goals and provided 38 assists, helping the team win the Romanian Cup and Super Cup. He has also played in Austria and Greece, promising to bring experience and class to the V.League side's attack.

In addition to strengthening the frontline, coach Nguyen Viet Thang's team also added Serbian center-back Filip Jovic. The player, who once represented Serbia's U18s, has competed in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina before moving to Slaven Belupo in the Croatian top division. Jovic's arrival is expected to make Truong Tuoi Dong Nai's defense more solid ahead of the new season.

On the domestic front, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai has also steadily added experienced players. Most notably, center-back Bui Tien Dung, a member of the Vietnam U23 squad that finished as runners-up at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship. Additionally, the team signed goalkeeper Pham Van Phong, along with defenders Nguyen Van Duc and Phan Van Hieu, quickly completing squad depth across all three lines.

As of now, Truong Tuoi Dong Nai has announced a total of 7 new signings, including 4 domestic players (Pham Van Phong, Bui Tien Dung, Nguyen Van Duc, Phan Van Hieu) and 3 foreign players (Filip Jovic, Andrei Ivan, Andrija Majdevac). This continuous acquisition of quality players both domestic and international underscores the great ambition of the V.League newcomer. With heavy investment in the transfer market, the Southeast region team is aiming not only to avoid relegation but also to make a mark in the V.League 2026/27 season.
