Brazilian striker creates sensation in Vietnam, scoring 20 goals after 12 rounds

Italo Henrique found the net for the 20th time as Thai Son Nam HCMC secured a 1-0 victory in Round 12 of the National Futsal Championship.

On the afternoon of July 15, the remaining two matches of Round 12 of the 2026 HDBank National Futsal Championship concluded with victories for Thai Son Nam HCMC and Tan Hiep Hung HCMC. This result allowed Thai Son Nam HCMC to maintain a one-point gap from the leaders Thai Son Bac, while Tan Hiep Hung HCMC solidified their fifth-place position on the standings.

The highlight of the matchday was the clash between Thai Son Nam HCMC and Saigon Titans. After a draw in the first leg, Saigon Titans once again proved to be a tough opponent by organizing a solid defensive system, causing many difficulties for the defending champions.

Determined to take all three points to keep pace with Thai Son Bac, Thai Son Nam HCMC controlled the game and applied constant pressure. However, the solidity of the defense and the consistent form of goalkeeper Mai Xuan Hiep caused the hosts' chances to be neutralized one by one.

It was not until the final minute of the first half that the deadlock was broken. Doan Phat sprinted down the right flank before delivering a favorable cross for foreign player Italo Henrique (Bob) to tap in from close range, scoring the only goal of the match. This was also the 20th goal of the Brazilian striker in the 2026 HDBank National Futsal Championship.

In the second half, Saigon Titans pushed forward actively in search of an equalizer, making the game more open. In the final minutes, the visitors employed the power-play tactic but could not break through the defense of Thai Son Nam HCMC.

The minimal 1-0 victory allowed coach Tran Van Vu and his team to raise their total points to 30, staying just one point behind Thai Son Bac with two rounds remaining. In the other match, Tan Hiep Hung HCMC had little difficulty overcoming Luxury Ha Long with a 9-1 scoreline.

Quy Toan and Thanh Phong both scored hat-tricks, while Duc Quyen, Anh Tuan, and P.O. Lee each netted one goal, securing a resounding victory for the HCMC side. Luxury Ha Long's consolation goal was scored by Hoang Nhut. With this result, Tan Hiep Hung HCMC has 13 points, remaining in fifth place on the table, while Luxury Ha Long still has no points after 12 rounds.
