The AFF Cup will take place from July 24 to August 26, 2026, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the tournament's founding. With increasingly professional organization, strong influence, and continuously improving quality, the tournament promises to remain a major festival of Southeast Asian football.
A total of 10 Southeast Asian teams will participate: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam. They will be divided into two groups for the final round.
According to the group draw results, Vietnam is in Group A with Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Timor-Leste. Group B features Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Laos, and Myanmar.
The group stage of the AFF Cup 2026 will be a single round-robin format with home-and-away matches. Each team plays four matches (two home, two away) from July 24 to August 8. The top two teams from each group advance to the semifinals. The semifinals and final will also be played over two legs, from August 15 to August 26.
In the 2024 AFF Cup, Vietnam excellently won the title by defeating Thailand with an aggregate score of 5-3 over two legs, thus becoming Southeast Asian champions for the third time in history.
