V.League newcomer set to welcome a former dominant figure who once ruled Vietnam alongside CAHN

Bắc Ninh FC are said to be nearing a deal for Vitão, the midfielder who recently left CAHN, signaling the lofty aspirations of the new V.League 2026/27 side.

Bắc Ninh FC is on the verge of adding one of the most experienced defensive midfielders in the V.League, as Vitão is reportedly very close to joining the Kinh Bắc club. Although the two sides have not yet announced a contract, multiple domestic transfer sources have simultaneously listed the Brazilian player in the personnel plans of the V.League 2026/27 newcomer.

Vitão, full name Vitor Hugo Rosa Nascimento, has just finished two seasons wearing the shirt of Hanoi Police (CAHN). The police department club confirmed that the contract between the two parties had ended after the 2025/26 season. On his personal page, the midfielder born in 1994 posted a farewell message: “Thank you for everything. It was an honor to be part of Hanoi Police FC!”

His journey at Hang Day helped Vitão accumulate a remarkable collection of achievements. He together with Hanoi Police won the V.League 2025/26 championship, the National Cup 2024/25, the National Super Cup 2025, and finished as runners-up in the 2024/25 ASEAN Club Championship. That is an especially valuable experience foundation for Bắc Ninh, a club that just earned promotion to the top division after defeating PVF-CAND in the playoff match.

Standing at 1.88 m, Vitão can play as a central midfielder, defensive midfielder, and drop back to center-back when needed. The Brazilian's strengths lie not in flashy moves, but in his ability to contest, shield the area in front of the defense, and maintain intensity in physical matches. A player like that could become a tactical anchor for the newly promoted team, especially since the gap in speed and strength between the First Division and the V.League is always very pronounced.

This deal also shows that Bắc Ninh does not want to enter the new season with a mindset of merely trying to survive relegation. After two consecutive promotions, the Kinh Bắc club needs players who understand the league, can handle pressure, and can adapt immediately.
