No Euro Cup! Report: Ronaldo to Play One More Match for Portugal, Then Announce Retirement, Bidding Farewell at His Boyhood Club's Stadium

Following Portugal's elimination in the World Cup round of 16, the question of whether the 41-year-old Ronaldo will continue with the national team is undoubtedly a focal point of public attention.

On July 17, Arab journalist Mohammed Awad reported that a Portuguese agent had informed him that the 41-year-old Ronaldo intends to play one final game for Portugal and then retire from international duty.

The journalist confidently stated, "I spoke with a Portuguese agent, and he told me that Ronaldo will retire from the national team after playing one more match for Portugal."

The match in question is the Nations League opener between Portugal and Wales. This game will take place at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon, the home ground of Sporting CP.

Ronaldo has indicated that this stadium is where his professional career began, and he believes it would be a significant and fitting setting to bid farewell to the Portuguese national team.

On September 25 at 2:45 AM, Portugal will face Wales in their first Nations League match. If the journalist's report is accurate, this will be Ronaldo's final appearance for the national team.

At 41, Ronaldo has made 233 appearances for Portugal, scoring 146 goals and providing 45 assists. He helped Portugal win the 2016 European Championship and also lifted the Nations League trophy twice.

Unfortunately, Ronaldo has led his team in six World Cups without ever winning the title. His best result was a fourth-place finish in 2006, his first World Cup appearance.

However, Ronaldo has still set many records in the World Cup. He is Portugal's all-time top scorer in the tournament and is the only player in football history to have scored in six different World Cups.
