Big victory over Myanmar, Coach Kim Sang Sik confirms one thing about Dinh Bac in Vietnam National Team

Beyond being pleased with Vietnam's overwhelming display versus Myanmar, Coach Kim Sang Sik disclosed an interesting point regarding Dinh Bac. The statement from the South Korean coach suggests that the young footballer will hold an important position in the 2026 AFF Cup.

The Vietnam national team concluded their final rehearsal before the 2026 AFF Cup with a convincing 4-0 victory over Myanmar at home. Although his students dominated the match from start to finish with goals from Xuan Son, Xuan Manh, Hoang Hen, and Dinh Bac, what Coach Kim Sang Sik particularly emphasized after the game was Dinh Bac's performance in a completely new role.

The South Korean coach believes that the win over Myanmar brings many positive signals, but the greatest value lies in his successful verification of personnel options. Notably, Kim Sang Sik made remarkable comments about Dinh Bac, revealing plans to use this player in the 2026 AFF Cup, thereby opening up more tactical choices for Vietnam.

Right after the opening whistle, Vietnam quickly imposed their game and scored the opening goal in the 5th minute. After a loose ball in front of the penalty area, Xuan Son fired a decisive volley to beat the Myanmar goalkeeper. The early advantage allowed the hosts to completely control the midfield with the mobility of Quang Hai and Hoang Duc, although the opponents also created a few notable counterattacks that forced Patrik Le Giang to make saves.

During the remainder of the first half, Myanmar played aggressively and committed frequent fouls. In the 38th minute, Xuan Manh jumped high to head accurately from a left-wing free kick to double the lead. The Korean strategist revealed: "Dinh Bac came on in the second half and played as a winger, a position I had tested him in Korea. With Dinh Bac, he can perform well both when coming off the bench and as a starter, so I will have more rotation options."
