Indonesian media are concerned about the naturalized trio of the Vietnam national team.

"The Vietnam national team has gained two new naturalized players to face Indonesia at the 2026 AFF Cup, forming a formidable trio alongside Nguyễn Xuân Son," reports Bola of Indonesia.

According to information from Bola, the Vietnam national team has two new naturalized players for the 2026 Asean Cup campaign, including the match against Indonesia. Both are of Brazilian origin.

The two players are Hendrio Araujo da Silva and Geovane Magno. After completing naturalization procedures, they respectively took the Vietnamese names Đỗ Hoàng Hên and Nguyễn Tài Lộc.

Both recently made impressive performances in the Vietnam national team shirt in a friendly match against Myanmar at Thái Nguyên Stadium, Vietnam, which took place on July 18, 2026.

Đỗ Hoàng Hên and Nguyễn Tài Lộc both started from the beginning, contributing to Vietnam's 4-0 victory over Myanmar in the friendly match preparing for the 2026 AFF Cup.

Vietnam's four goals were scored by Nguyễn Xuân Son in the 5th minute, Phạm Xuân Mạnh in the 39th minute, Đỗ Hoàng Hên in the 59th minute, and Nguyễn Đình Bắc from a penalty in the 90+1st minute.

Nguyễn Xuân Son is also a naturalized player of Brazilian origin for Vietnam, whose birth name is Rafaelson Bezerra Fernandes.

Đỗ Hoàng Hên and Nguyễn Tài Lộc both play as attacking midfielders, so they are expected to form a formidable naturalized trio with Nguyễn Xuân Son for the Vietnam national team.

Đỗ Hoàng Hên has played in Vietnam for 5 years. The 32-year-old player wore the shirt of Nam Định FC from 2021 to 2025 before moving to Hà Nội FC last season.

Meanwhile, Nguyễn Tài Lộc has lived in Vietnam for 7 years. The 32-year-old player has played for Sài Gòn FC (2019-2020), Hà Nội FC (2020-2021), Viettel FC (2021-2023), CAHN FC (2023-2024), Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh (2024-2025), and has been with Ninh Bình FC since last season.

Both are trusted to be in the Vietnam national team lineup when they face Indonesia away in Group A of the 2026 AFF Cup at Pakansari Stadium (Bogor, Indonesia) on August 3, 2026.

One day after the victory over Myanmar, the Vietnam national team remained in Thái Nguyên and spent the morning resting and recovering, before having a light training session in the afternoon.

On July 20, the Vietnam national team will travel from Thái Nguyên to Nội Bài Airport (Hanoi) to depart for Thailand at noon that day. Upon arriving in Bangkok, the whole team will move to Chonburi province.
