Manchester United cannot sell Zirkzee, with no takers; Amorim blocks Milan from signing him! He risks becoming the "hype squad" leader.

Joshua Zirkzee's position at Manchester United is growing more uncomfortable by the day. This 24-year-old Dutch forward is eager to demonstrate he can still make an impact at Old Trafford, but he fails to produce steady results; the club hopes to sell him, yet has been dismayed to discover that no one is interested now.

Zirkzee is undoubtedly out of Manchester United's future plans, with no need for him at either striker or No.10. United wants a substitute No.9 capable of scoring goals, not a forward like Zirkzee whose tally is lower than some defenders. As for the No.10 role, Bruno Fernandes is an "iron man," while Mason Mount and Cunha can both handle it, leaving no vacancy for Zirkzee.

Reportedly, the only clubs showing interest in Zirkzee are from Turkey, but United is unwilling to take a massive financial loss. The club paid €42.5 million to bring Zirkzee from Bologna and now wants to sell him outright, not loan him to other teams.

There have been some rumors, but Zirkzee remains at Manchester United with no signs of a transfer; both the player and the club are uncertain about his future. In the first summer friendly, due to Sesko's injury, Zirkzee started but failed to impress.

Realistically, Zirkzee is a surplus player at Manchester United. He occasionally drops deep to link play and shows flashes of brilliance, but he struggles to establish himself consistently in English football. His goal drought is his biggest issue—since joining, he has scored only 9 goals and provided 4 assists in 75 appearances, while fans also question whether he has the pace and physical intensity needed to lead United's frontline.

Zirkzee is praised for his positive and optimistic personality, making him well-liked by the coaching staff and teammates, so United has not forced him to leave. Unfortunately, this means his biggest role in the team might be as part of the "hype squad," enthusiastically celebrating goals from the sidelines.

During the January transfer window, Roma from Serie A hoped to sign Zirkzee on loan with an option to buy, but United refused because they felt their forward line was short-handed. Embarrassingly, now even Serie A clubs are not very interested in Zirkzee. This is especially true for AC Milan, who had previously wanted him but are now managed by former United boss Ruben Amorim.

Transfer expert Carlo Pellegatti stated that Amorim has vetoed any possibility of Milan signing Zirkzee, with the United players he is interested in being Amad Diallo and Mason Mount—definitely not Zirkzee. "I think if Milan lose Pulisic, Zirkzee could be an ideal option behind the center-forward, as his technique is excellent. So, does Amorim have any thoughts on Zirkzee? Many people tell me absolutely not—Amorim doesn't like him at all and has never truly considered him."

Manchester United has also been linked with some experienced forwards this summer, such as Brighton's former academy product Danny Welbeck and Crystal Palace's French international Mateta. Among them, the 29-year-old Mateta is in his prime and has a far more reliable goal-scoring record in the Premier League than Zirkzee, having scored 16, 14, and 12 goals in the past three seasons respectively. With only one year left on his contract, his transfer fee this summer would be just £25 million.

Unfortunately, United revamped their attack last year by signing three new players—Cunha, Mbeumo, and Sesko—but this summer they may not be able to upgrade their forward line further, because not only Zirkzee but also left-winger Rashford's permanent transfer has hit obstacles, with a high chance he stays. Therefore, despite Mateta's long-standing links to the Red Devils, a transfer seems unlikely.
