Accordingly, both the men's and women's football teams of Vietnam have confirmed their seeding groups before the draw for the group stage, which will take place on July 23.

In the men's football event, the 15 participating teams will be divided into 4 groups: 3 groups of 4 teams and 1 group of 3 teams. After the group stage, the top two teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.

Based on the seeding classification determined by performance at the 2026 AFC U23 Asian Cup finals, the U23 Vietnam team has been placed in Pot 1 alongside hosts Japan, China, and South Korea. This reflects the impressive achievements of U23 Vietnam in the continental arena in recent times, while also helping the team avoid facing the strongest opponents right from the group stage.

Pot 2 includes Uzbekistan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Thailand; Pot 3 includes Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Qatar, and the Philippines; and Pot 4 includes Kuwait, Hong Kong (China), and North Korea.

Meanwhile, in the women's football event, 12 teams will be divided into 3 groups of 4 teams each. The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarterfinals.
