Zidane returns, signs contract to lead France to the 2030 World Cup

The iconic Zinedine Zidane has formally inked a deal to manage France until the 2030 World Cup, closing a long period of waiting and starting a fresh chapter following Didier Deschamps' departure from the national side.

After years of anticipation, Zinedine Zidane has finally returned to top-level football. The French legend has officially signed a contract to lead the French national team until the end of the 2030 World Cup, opening a new chapter for "Les Bleus" after the successful era of Didier Deschamps.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, all formalities have been completed, and the agreement between the French Football Federation (FFF) and Zidane has been finalized. The 54-year-old former star will take over the hot seat immediately after Didier Deschamps concludes his 14-year tenure as national team manager.

This news also puts an end to the long-standing speculation over the years about Zidane becoming the head coach of France. Since leaving Real Madrid in 2021, the 1972-born tactician has always been considered the top candidate for this role.
